Watch Out for the Bulls! A novel by Michael Dawkes

The Super Cheese Ball Crash ­ the worst road traffic accident of the 21st Century so far - occurs at midnight, 31st December 2001, at a Customs Post in Europe. An Italian truck carrying Dutch Gouda cheese explodes. Two hundred and three miscellaneous Europeans perish, some splattered to death by hot Gouda. All the victims are thus denied the opportunity to celebrate the advent of the Single European Currency by acquiring euros. This is important.

Meanwhile, based on the results of an audit of Earth’s surviving species, our angry Maker has resurrected a man called Wong. He is the Messenger. He brings bad news but glad tidings about new and novel Afterlife venues. He tells of Euroheaven, where ‘the French are the cooks’. All who believe him ‘shall be known as Messengerites’. When only three of the Super Cheese Ball Crash victims gain entry to Euroheaven, our Maker begins to question his own innovative idea.

The rest end up in the other place and all but two are ill prepared. Now called Federal Hell it seems to be run on the lines of Butlin’s in the ‘50s mixed with Club Med at any time. But Harrold and Ada Skinner from Mablethorpe, sinners but followers of the ‘ism began by Wong, know what to expect. For it is written; ‘in Federal Hell the English will be the cooks’. Harrold and Ada are fully committed to ruining the food as they ‘cook for England’ in the Devil’s kitchen.

If you believe in death and are interested in what really happens when you die these days, this novel explains everything. Those who believe the motorcar will kill us all, eventually, will find the novel particularly rewarding.
